At least 30 children Maluku will follow the abacus and the National Olympic arena Arimatika Jakarta Fair (PRJ), Kemayoran on May 9 to 10, 2010.
Children ages Kindergarten (TK) to Primary Schools (SD) will follow the Olympics for two days with a category for the abacus, which Kindegarden (GL) I, II and Elementery I, II and Mental Arithmetic or abacus banyangan, ie Intermediate I, II and Higher I, II and Advanced I, II.
“Olympic arena abacus and Arithmetic is to measure children’s ability in the Moluccas national stage. This is the fifth year of participation in these activities Maluku,” said Chairman of Algebra Foundations, Hanny Latuconsina in Ambon, Thursday.
Latuconsina explained, children are trained for four hours per week. While approaching the game, they were quarantined for a week at the office of Algebra Foundations, in Ambon.
“These kids are trained to complete the 100 questions in eight seconds to level Elementery down. Meanwhile, the Higher level over 200 questions for the eight-minute with a composition of 50 questions each for the sum, subtraction, division and multiplication,” he said.
He said, the 30 children who take shelter in Algebra Foundations will depart tomorrow morning from the airport Pattimura, Ambon. Some will follow on Saturday, May 8th, 2010. They will return to the Moluccas from 10-12 May 2010.
Meanwhile, Maluku Provincial Secretary Farfar Ros said it strongly supports the participation of children in the national stage.
“Our children who have good skills in the field of Science and the abacus and Arithmetic have received support from the government. We are very grateful and supportive measures to enhance the knowledge of Algebra Foundations of children Maluku,” he said.
Aljabat Foundation has four consecutive years to include children in the National Olympic abacus Maluku and Arithmetic.
In 2006, these institutions include three participants and one of them gets to Level Elementery I hope I and the year 2007, of seven children who opted for the five categories, two of them managed to snatch KG champion at Level I, each Winner and I hope .
